Clear Skies and Cooler Temps in Phoenix This Week
Arizona is experiencing clearing skies and below-average temperatures following the remnants of a Pacific storm. Phoenix recorded a high of 86°F (30°C) today, which is 10°F below the seasonal average. Dry conditions are expected to persist into the weekend, with easterly wind gusts potentially reaching up to 30 mph in some areas. Morning lows across the state ranged from 40°F (4°C) in Flagstaff to 72°F (22°C) in Yuma. Tropical moisture from Hurricane Polo has moved eastward, leaving Arizona with drier and more pleasant weather as October begins. However, a flash flood warning remains in effect for the Little Colorado River until midnight, and a flood warning for the Gila River is active until 5 a.m. Thursday.
