Countries Move to Ban Social Media for Children Amid Concerns
Several countries are considering or have implemented bans on social media access for children and teens. Australia was the first to enforce such a ban, prohibiting children under 16 from using major social media platforms. Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Slovenia, Spain, and the UK are also exploring similar measures. These bans aim to address issues like cyberbullying, addiction, and mental health concerns among young users. However, there are criticisms regarding privacy and the effectiveness of such bans. Despite this, governments are moving forward with legislation to protect young users.
