Midair Collision at Idaho Air Force Base Show Leads to Lockdown and Cancellation
A midair collision involving two fighter jets occurred during the Gunfighter Skies Air Show at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. The incident, which took place about two miles northwest of the base, resulted in both jets crashing to the ground. All four aircrew members successfully ejected and are being evaluated by medical personnel. The base, home to the U.S. Air Force's 366th Fighter Wing, known as the 'Gunfighters,' was placed on lockdown following the crash. Videos circulating on social media captured the collision and subsequent fiery crash, with black smoke visible from the site. The air show, which was in its second day, was canceled, and the public was advised to avoid the area.
