Former Las Vegas Judge Jackie Glass, Known for O.J. Simpson Sentencing, Dies
Former Las Vegas Judge Jackie Glass has passed away, as confirmed by a Facebook post from her daughter, Rachel Wolfson. Judge Glass was a prominent figure in the legal community, notably for sentencing O.J. Simpson to prison after his 2008 robbery and kidnapping conviction in Las Vegas. During the sentencing, Glass famously stated that Simpson was 'arrogant or ignorant or both.' She served on the District Court bench from 2002 until 2011. Beyond the Simpson trial, she also presided over other high-profile cases, including the trial of bodybuilders Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan for murder, and the extortion case involving Celine Dion's husband, René Angélil. After her judicial career, Glass hosted the courtroom show 'Swift Justice with Jackie Glass' and worked as a mediator. Before her legal career, she was a reporter covering courts for KTNV-TV, Channel 13. Tributes have poured in from Las Vegas lawyers and politicians, including U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley.
