NASA's Scott Wray Leads Artemis EVA Training for Future Lunar Missions
Scott Wray, a veteran at NASA's Johnson Space Center, is spearheading the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) training for the Artemis program, which aims to return humans to the Moon. With over 16 years of experience, Wray has been instrumental in shaping spacewalk training across different eras of human spaceflight. His current role involves preparing astronauts for lunar surface operations, a challenge NASA has not faced in over 50 years. The training includes mastering new spacesuit technologies, vehicles, and environments, as well as integrating scientific disciplines like geology to enable astronauts to conduct effective field science on the Moon. Wray's efforts are seen as foundational for future exploration, including potential missions to Mars.
