President Trump's Legal Team Dwindles to One Lawyer Amid Multiple Appeals
President Donald Trump's legal team, initially composed of five partners from the prestigious firm Sullivan & Cromwell, has reportedly shrunk to a single lawyer, Robert Giuffra Jr., as he prepares to navigate three significant appeals. According to Politico, four of the five partners who were part of the team assembled to represent President Trump in his appeal against the hush money conviction have since left the firm. These departures include partners who were appointed to roles within the Trump administration or the judiciary, such as Jamie McDonald becoming Manhattan U.S. attorney and Matthew Schwartz being nominated to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, while others transitioned to rival law firms. By April, Giuffra was the sole remaining partner tasked with handling President Trump's appeals in the hush money criminal case, the E. Jean Carroll defamation case, and the New York Attorney General Letitia James' civil fraud judgment.
