Ideal Weather Conditions Expected for Boston Marathon
The Boston Marathon, set for Monday, April 20, 2026, is anticipated to benefit from favorable weather conditions, including cool temperatures and a tailwind. This year's race features a highly competitive field, with defending champions Sharon Lokedi and John Korir returning to defend their titles. Lokedi, who broke the women's course record last year, will be joined by a strong lineup of competitors, including several American athletes with impressive personal bests. The men's field is equally competitive, with many top finishers from previous years returning. The marathon, which is the world's oldest annual race, will see over 30,000 participants running from Hopkinton to Boston's Copley Square.
