Smart Livestock Farming Program in Peren Empowers Local Farmers
A Kisan Goshti-cum-Input Distribution Programme on 'Smart Livestock Farming for Higher Productivity' was held in Mhainamtsi village, Peren district, organized by the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Central Agricultural University, Imphal. The event, funded by the ICAR–National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad, saw participation from 256 individuals, including farmers and college officials. The program aimed to promote scientific methods in livestock farming, offering technical sessions and farmer-scientist interactions. As part of the initiative, 1,000 chicks and 500 kg of poultry starter feed were distributed to 65 farmers, alongside an animal health camp providing veterinary medicines and supplements.
