Maine Senate Race: Susan Collins and Graham Platner Tied Amid Sexting Scandal
Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Democratic candidate Graham Platner are currently tied in the Maine Senate race, each receiving 46% support among likely voters, according to a poll conducted by Fabrizio, Lee & Associates for the pro-Collins Pine Tree Results PAC. This development follows revelations that Platner engaged in sexting with multiple women via the chat app Kik while married. The poll indicates that 8% of voters remain undecided. The controversy has significantly impacted Platner's favorability, with nearly half of the respondents holding an unfavorable view of him, a sharp increase from earlier in the year. Additionally, 59% of those surveyed stated that the sexting revelations would make them less likely to vote for Platner.
