Three States Challenge Trump Administration's Medical Cannabis Rescheduling
Attorneys general from Nebraska, Indiana, and Louisiana have filed a petition in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to block the Trump administration's order to reschedule certain medical cannabis products. The order, issued by acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, moves cannabis products from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act. The states argue that the administration's action exceeds its authority and failed to follow required procedures. The petition seeks to reverse the rescheduling, which affects cannabis-based drugs approved by the FDA and products distributed through state-licensed medical cannabis programs.
