A new report from Redfin indicates that Gen Z and Millennials are significantly influencing U.S. migration trends, driven by factors such as job opportunities and housing affordability. Gen Z is primarily moving to cities like San Antonio, Washington D.C., Austin, and Nashville, which offer strong job markets for early-career professionals and vibrant social scenes. San Antonio, for instance, saw a net inflow of 10,678 Gen Zers. Conversely, New York is experiencing the largest outflow of Gen Z residents, with a net loss of 29,554. Millennials, now in their 30s and early 40s, are favoring metros like Houston, Dallas, and Baltimore, where they can find more affordable housing and space for growing families.
