Pope Leo Visits Spain to Address Migrant Issues and Promote Humanitarian Values
Pope Leo has embarked on a significant visit to Spain, marking his first trip to an EU country outside Italy. The visit, scheduled from June 6 to June 12, includes stops in Madrid, Barcelona, and the Canary Islands. During his visit, Pope Leo is set to inaugurate a new tower at the Sagrada Familia basilica in Barcelona and engage with migrants who have risked their lives crossing the Atlantic to reach Europe. The Pope's itinerary also includes meetings with Spanish royalty and various organizations dedicated to assisting migrants. This visit comes in the context of Pope Leo's previous criticisms of U.S. President Trump's anti-immigration policies, highlighting his commitment to advocating for the respect and dignity of all human beings.
