Severe Thunderstorm Risk Extends Across Midwest and Northeast
A significant risk of severe weather is forecasted to affect parts of the northeastern and central United States through the weekend. This follows a series of tornadoes that impacted the Upper Midwest and Corn Belt earlier in the week. Approximately 20 tornadoes were reported, with the most intense being an EF3 tornado with winds reaching 140 mph near Hillsboro and Union Center in Wisconsin. Additionally, an EF1 tornado struck Ann Arbor, Michigan, and large hail was reported in Madison, Wisconsin. The severe weather threat is expected to continue, with a broad risk zone stretching from Wisconsin to Oklahoma, potentially bringing winds up to 75 mph.
