Bruna Ferreira Criticizes White House Narrative Following ICE Arrest
Bruna Ferreira, the mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew, has publicly criticized the White House's portrayal of her situation following her arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Ferreira, a Brazilian immigrant, was detained on November 12 and is currently held in an ICE detention facility in Louisiana. In an interview with the Washington Post, Ferreira expressed her dismay at being labeled an absentee mother by the administration, describing the characterization as 'disgusting.' She admitted to making a mistake by trusting Karoline Leavitt, the White House Press Secretary, to be her son's godmother. Ferreira, who has a child with Michael Leavitt, the press secretary's older brother, maintains that she has no criminal record and has strong ties to the Leavitt family. Her attorney, Todd Pomerleau, supports her claims, contradicting the administration's narrative.
