Air Quality Advisory Issued for Portland and Other Oregon Areas Due to Wildfires
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air quality advisory for the Portland metro area and several other counties in Oregon due to smoke from multiple wildfires in Oregon and Washington. The advisory affects areas including Baker, Clackamas, Crook, Deschutes, Harney, Jefferson, and others. The advisory is expected to last until at least Tuesday afternoon, with smoke levels subject to rapid changes depending on weather conditions. Residents are advised to stay indoors, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and use air purifiers to mitigate the effects of smoke.
