Dog Rescued Alive After 29 Days in Rubble of Venezuela Earthquake, Highlighting Survival Amidst Tragedy
A poodle named Beyli was miraculously rescued after being trapped for 29 days in the rubble of a collapsed building in Catia La Mar, Venezuela, following two devastating earthquakes. The earthquakes, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, struck on June 24, resulting in over 5,500 fatalities and leaving thousands homeless. Beyli was found covered in dust, curled up next to the body of his owner's deceased mother. Despite being without food or water for nearly a month, Beyli is expected to make a full recovery, although he has some eye ulcers. The rescue operation was captured on video, showing firefighters providing water to the dog upon his extraction from the debris. Beyli's owner, 11-year-old Victoria Isabel Rengel, lost her mother and grandmother in the disaster but has since been reunited with her pet at a rescue center.
