Indonesian Rescuers Save Five Survivors from Sunken Passenger Boat
In a remarkable maritime rescue operation, five individuals, including a 7-year-old girl, were found alive after a passenger boat sank off the coast of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The boat, KM Nurul Salsa, carrying 78 passengers and crew, experienced engine failure and sank on Wednesday. The survivors were discovered four days later, clinging to a fishing trap and debris near Matallang Island. The rescue was conducted by a passing fishing boat, as reported by the Anatolian News Agency. Despite the successful rescue of these five individuals, approximately 20 people remain missing, and one person has been confirmed dead. The challenging weather conditions, including high waves and strong winds, have complicated the ongoing search and rescue efforts.
