Teenager Critically Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in North Phoenix Crosswalk
A 14-year-old boy is in life-threatening condition after being hit by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk in north Phoenix on Saturday night. Phoenix police and fire crews responded to the incident around 7:30 p.m. in the area of 35th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue. Witnesses reported that the teenager was in the crosswalk when he was struck by an adult male driver traveling south on 35th Avenue. Firefighters transported the injured teen to a hospital. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluated the driver and found no signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently cited for traffic violations and released.
