Berlin Police Identify Suspect in Van Attack at LGBTQ+ Event, Prompting Event Cancellation
A van drove into a crowd during Berlin's LGBTQ+ event, resulting in one death and at least 16 injuries. The incident led to the cancellation of the event and a concert in the German capital. Berlin police have identified a suspect with ties to Islamic extremist circles in the city. The suspect is known to the police, but has not been arrested yet. The attack occurred in Tiergarten park, near the route of the pride march, and the van collided with a tree after hitting several people. The police are conducting an intensive search for the suspect and have called on witnesses to provide any video or photos from the scene. The event, known as Christopher Street Day, is one of Europe's largest LGBTQ+ celebrations.
