Sandra Carolina Gómez Sánchez, recently appointed as a spokesperson for the incoming administration of Abelardo de la Espriella, is under scrutiny following revelations about her academic credentials. An investigative report by Infobae disclosed that Gómez Sánchez, who was presented as a lawyer, does not hold a law degree. Despite being enrolled in the law program at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana from 2014 to 2021, she did not graduate. The report also highlighted that she has not taken the necessary state exams to qualify as a lawyer in Colombia. Official communications from the government describe her as a journalist, communicator, producer, and presenter, without mentioning a legal background. This discrepancy has raised questions about her qualifications and the transparency of her appointment.
