Tropical Storm Dolly Could Form in Eastern Atlantic
The Atlantic hurricane season is entering its busiest period, and a tropical disturbance, currently identified as Invest 96L, is being monitored for potential development into Tropical Storm Dolly later this week. This tropical wave is located off the coast of Africa, south of the Cabo Verde Islands, and has the potential to evolve into a tropical depression before strengthening further. While the system is approximately 2,500 miles away from the Lesser Antilles, computer models suggest two possible scenarios: it may struggle against El Niño-enhanced wind shear and dry air, or it could develop further and move northward into the subtropical Atlantic.
