Tragic Boating Accident at Captree State Park Results in Fatality
A 58-year-old man died after his boat capsized while attempting to launch it at Captree State Park in New York. The incident occurred late Friday, with emergency services responding to a call about a man trapped under a boat. The West Islip Fire Department rescued the man, who was then transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The investigation revealed that the man's 16-foot Boston Whaler struck the docks multiple times before capsizing. The New York State Parks Police, Suffolk County Marine Patrol, and the U.S. Coast Guard were involved in the response.
