Hungary Summons Russian Ambassador Over Drone Attack in Ukraine
Hungary summoned Russia's ambassador following a massive drone attack in Ukraine that affected the Transcarpathia region, home to a significant Hungarian minority. The Hungarian Foreign Minister, Anita Orbán, expressed that the attack was unacceptable and urged Russia to pursue a ceasefire and peaceful resolution. The drone attack, one of the longest by Russia in the ongoing conflict, targeted multiple regions in Ukraine, resulting in casualties. This diplomatic move marks a significant shift in Hungary's stance towards Russia, following the election of Prime Minister Péter Magyar, who has distanced the country from the pro-Russian policies of his predecessor, Viktor Orbán.
