Nationwide Cantaloupe Recall Issued Over Salmonella Concerns
Ayco Farms Inc., a Florida-based produce distributor, has recalled over 8,000 cartons of cantaloupes due to potential salmonella contamination. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified this as a Class I recall, indicating a high risk of severe health consequences. The recall affects cantaloupes distributed across several states, including California, Florida, New York, and Pennsylvania. Although the cantaloupes are no longer available in stores, consumers who purchased them earlier this year are advised to dispose of any remaining fruit to prevent health risks.
