House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries Supports DNC Chair Amid Financial Concerns
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has expressed his full support for Ken Martin, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), amidst growing concerns from Democratic donors about the DNC's financial health and leadership. The DNC is reportedly facing a significant cash deficit as it approaches the November midterms, with Federal Election Commission data showing the organization ended June with $16.3 million in cash and $18.5 million in debt. This financial situation has led some donors to lose trust in the DNC's leadership, with several redirecting their contributions to other campaign committees. Despite these challenges, Martin has defended his tenure, highlighting that the current DNC has raised more money than any previous DNC without the White House in its history. He also criticized Republicans for failing to deliver on campaign promises during a recent National Urban League Conference.
