Attorneys General Urge Credit Card Companies to Combat Illegal Vape Sales
A coalition of 13 state attorneys general, led by Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird, is urging major credit card companies to stop processing transactions related to illegal vape sales. The coalition's letter highlights the significant presence of illicit vaping products, primarily from China, which dominate the U.S. market with over $11 billion in annual sales. The attorneys general are calling on Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover to identify and remove merchants involved in these transactions, drawing parallels to past efforts that led to the enactment of the PACT Act.
