C. Joseph Vijay, a prominent Indian film star, has been sworn in as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, a significant industrial hub in southern India. Vijay's political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which he founded in 2024, emerged as the largest party in the state elections, securing 108 seats in the 234-member legislative assembly. Despite falling short of a simple majority, Vijay's party formed a coalition with other parties, including the opposition Congress, to reach 120 seats, enabling him to assume the top position. The swearing-in ceremony took place in Chennai, where thousands of supporters gathered to witness the event.
