Katie Porter Denies Relationship with Influencer Behind Swalwell Allegations
Katie Porter, a UC Irvine Law professor and gubernatorial candidate, has denied having a direct relationship with Cheyenne Hunt, an influencer behind allegations against Rep. Eric Swalwell. Hunt, a progressive activist and UC Irvine Law graduate, has been linked to Porter through academic and political connections. Despite these connections, Porter's campaign spokesperson, Peter Opitz, stated that there is no significant relationship between Porter and Hunt. The allegations against Swalwell, which include claims of inappropriate behavior with female staffers, have been denied by his campaign. Porter has publicly commented on the allegations, emphasizing the importance of supporting potential victims. However, she clarified that she has not personally spoken to any women making these claims.
