Hungary and Russia Sign 12-Point Plan to Strengthen Economic and Cultural Ties
Hungary and Russia have formalized a 12-point plan to enhance their economic, trade, energy, and cultural relations. This agreement was signed during the 16th meeting of the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Moscow. The plan outlines cooperation in various sectors, including nuclear fuel, education, and sports. The meeting, which took place in December 2025, emphasized the importance of developing long-term, mutually beneficial ties. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó and Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko were key signatories of the agreement. The plan aims to reverse the negative trend in bilateral trade, which has been affected by EU sanctions on Russia due to its actions in Ukraine.
