Moltbook Security Flaw Exposes User Data, Raises Concerns Over AI-Coded Platforms
A significant security flaw has been discovered in Moltbook, a social network designed for AI agents, which exposed the email addresses and API credentials of thousands of users. The flaw was identified by researchers at the security firm Wiz, who found that a mishandled private key in the site's JavaScript code allowed unauthorized access to user accounts and private communications. Moltbook, created by Matt Schlicht, was developed using AI-generated code, which has been criticized for its potential to introduce vulnerabilities. The platform has since addressed the flaw, but the incident raises questions about the security of AI-developed applications.
