Keisha Lance Bottoms Confronts GOP Opponent Rick Jackson Over Comments About Husband in Georgia Gubernatorial Race
Keisha Lance Bottoms, the Democratic nominee for governor in Georgia, publicly confronted her Republican opponent, Rick Jackson, regarding comments he made about her husband, Derek W. Bottoms. In a video shared on social media, Bottoms demanded that Jackson "stay away from my family." The confrontation stems from a television advertisement in which Jackson accused Derek W. Bottoms, an attorney and executive at The Home Depot, of using city funds for a first-class Super Bowl ticket while Keisha Lance Bottoms served as Mayor of Atlanta. Keisha Lance Bottoms had previously refuted this accusation, stating she proactively reimbursed the city after discovering an error in the charges. Despite her clarification, Jackson continued to use the incident as a political attack.
