Driver in Modena Plows into Pedestrians, Eight Injured as Suspect Detained
In Modena, Italy, a driver identified as Salim El Koudri, a 31-year-old second-generation Italian, drove into pedestrians, injuring eight people, four critically. The incident occurred on a main street where El Koudri drove onto the sidewalk, hitting several people before crashing into a shop window. Authorities detained him after he attempted to flee. El Koudri, known to have mental health issues, was not found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Investigators are determining whether the act was deliberate.
