Israel Issues Elevated Terror Threat Warning for Citizens Abroad, Citing Hamas, ISIS, and Iran-Backed Proxies
Israel's National Security Council has issued an elevated terror threat warning for Israeli and Jewish citizens traveling abroad, particularly ahead of the Jewish High Holidays and the third anniversary of the October 7 attack. The assessment indicates a broader and more persistent threat environment than in previous years, attributing this to the ongoing conflict with Iran and its proxies, anti-Israel incitement, and an increase in plots and lone-actor attacks overseas. Hamas is reportedly establishing operational networks in Europe and other regions to target Israelis and Jews, while ISIS and al-Qaeda continue to call for attacks on Jewish targets globally, including in Europe and the United States.
