Indiana State Parks Face Theft of All-Terrain Trackchairs, Reward Offered for Information
Two all-terrain trackchairs, designed to assist disabled individuals in enjoying public lands, have been stolen from Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reported the theft, which occurred between April 30 and May 1, involving break-ins at six agency buildings. The trackchairs, valued at $20,000 each, were part of a $1 million initiative funded by a Lilly Endowment grant to provide 45 trackchairs across Indiana state parks. The theft also included two Vietnam War-era helmets. The DNR is actively investigating and has offered a $5,500 reward for information leading to the recovery of the trackchairs and the arrest of those responsible.
