Ukraine's Zelenskyy Seeks More Arms Deals Amid Russian Threats
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is actively pursuing additional arms deals with European allies to bolster Ukraine's air defense systems amid ongoing Russian aggression. During meetings with European leaders, Zelenskyy emphasized the urgent need for air defense missiles to counter daily Russian strikes. Recent Russian attacks have resulted in civilian casualties, including the death of an 8-year-old boy in the Cherkasy region. Ukraine has secured a defense package from Germany worth 4 billion euros and a 9 billion euro pledge from Norway. Zelenskyy is also advocating for joint weapons production agreements and urging the European Union to expedite a promised 90 billion euro loan. The Russian Defense Ministry has warned that European sites producing drones and other equipment for Ukraine could become targets, escalating tensions further.
