During the campaign stop, Johnson criticized Suozzi, labeling him as part of the 'Marxist crazy left Democrats' attempting to gain control of the House. Johnson's remarks were made at an event in Bethpage, New York, where he appeared alongside Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. Johnson also asserted that the Democratic Party is being 'overtaken by communists' and that a 'Marxist element' is evident in New York. He specifically criticized Suozzi for his stance on transgender athletes in women's sports, raising the state and local tax (SALT) deduction cap, and advocating for a ban on congressional stock trading. LiPetri, who narrowly lost to Suozzi in 2024, expressed confidence in his campaign's momentum.
