Teen Lifeguard Ryder Williams Commended for Heroic Ocean Rescue in California
Ryder Williams, a 16-year-old rookie lifeguard, has gained national attention for his heroic rescue of a 10-year-old boy at Seabright State Beach in Santa Cruz, California. The rescue took place on July 25, when Williams spotted the boy struggling in the surf and quickly acted to save him. Despite the challenging conditions, Williams managed to keep both himself and the boy from being dragged further into the ocean until help arrived. The rescue has earned praise from President Trump, who announced that Williams will receive a high civilian honor for his bravery.
