Austin Rogers Secures Republican Nomination for Florida's 2nd Congressional District
Austin Rogers has won the Republican primary for Florida’s 2nd Congressional District, positioning him as the likely successor to the retiring U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn. Rogers, who previously served as General Counsel to U.S. Senator Rick Scott, emerged victorious from a field of eight Republican candidates. He secured approximately 28% of the vote, defeating opponents such as lawyer Keith Gross, who garnered 17%, and Republican Party of Florida Chair Evan Power, who received 16%. Rogers' campaign emphasized his local roots in the Panama City area and his conservative values. He also received endorsements from prominent House Republican leaders, including House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan. Rogers raised over $1 million for his campaign and is now set to face Democrat Amanda Marie Green in the general election.
