Teenager Shot Outside St. Louis Jimmy John's Following Altercation Involving Mother
A 14-year-old girl is in stable condition after being shot in the leg during an altercation outside a Jimmy John's in Midtown, St. Louis, on Saturday. St. Louis police responded to the scene near Vandeventer and Laclede avenues after 6 p.m. and found the injured girl inside a vehicle. She was subsequently transported to a hospital. The shooting reportedly stemmed from a disagreement involving the girl's mother, who had recently been fired from the Jimmy John's, and several employees at the sandwich shop. Authorities indicate that the victim's father arrived at the restaurant with the teenager, leading to an escalation of the situation and the firing of shots. Adam White, a 27-year-old employee of Jimmy John's, has been charged with armed criminal action, first-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the incident. Police are continuing their investigation into the mother's connection to the restaurant.
