Nigerian Security Forces Conduct Largest Single-Day Rescue, Freeing 308 Abductees
Nigerian security forces have successfully rescued 308 individuals who were abducted in various attacks in the northern part of the country. This operation, described as the largest single-day rescue in Nigeria's history, was announced by President Bola Tinubu. The rescued individuals include 163 people from the Woro community in Kwara State and 145 from Niger State. The operation took place in a forest, and the rescued individuals are currently receiving medical attention. President Tinubu praised the operation as a demonstration of the growing efficiency and collaboration among Nigeria's security services. Abductions, particularly at schools, are common in Nigeria, often carried out by militant groups seeking to pressure the government and extract ransoms.
