IAEA and Inter-American Development Bank Sign MOU to Boost Nuclear Energy in Latin America and Caribbean
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing cooperation on the safe, secure, and sustainable utilization of nuclear energy within Latin America and the Caribbean. The agreement was signed by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and IDB Group President Ilan Goldfajn during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. This MOU establishes a framework for collaboration that includes dialogue, knowledge sharing, technical assistance, capacity building, energy-system planning, and infrastructure development.
