JR Transforms Paris's Pont Neuf into a Massive Grotto with Augmented Reality Experience
French artist JR has unveiled a new public art installation on Paris's Pont Neuf, the city's oldest bridge. The installation, titled 'La Caverne du Pont Neuf,' is a large-scale project that measures 120 meters long, 20 meters wide, and up to 18 meters tall. It incorporates sound and augmented reality elements, offering an immersive experience to visitors. The project is a continuation of JR's series of trompe l'oeil works and draws inspiration from Christo and Jeanne-Claude's iconic 'The Pont Neuf Wrapped.' The installation is supported by various organizations, including Snap Inc. and Bloomberg Philanthropies, and will be open to the public from June 6 to June 28, 2026.
