With an aim at the series win, India will take on Afghanistan in the second T20I of the three-match series. The fixture will take place at the Arun Jaitley
Stadium on Tuesday (September 15). A win here will see India clinch the series while the home team will keep the series alive if they stun India. Afghanistan haven't defeated India in international cricket yet. Going into the second game, all eyes will be on India's playing XI. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi wasn't part of India's playing XI in the series opener and it remains to be seen whether he gets an opportunity in the second game. Here, we have a look at India's likely playing XI for the 2nd T20I against Afghanistan - Openers An unchanged opening pair is expected and Sanju Samson looks set to open the innings once again. The wicketkeeper-batter made his return to the playing XI after making his T20I return and the management isn't expected to drop him after just one game. Samson departed for 10 off 8 balls in the first game. Abhishek is set to face the new ball again. The left-handed batter hit 82 off just 32 balls as India chased down the target of 157 with ease. A win in the second game will see them seal the series win.
Middle-order
Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma will do the job in the middle-order. Kishan scored 42 off 33 balls and added crucial 121 runs for the second wicket with Abhishek. Iyer (8) and Tilak (3) remained unbeaten in the chase.
All-rounders
There will be no changes here and all-rounders Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel and Shivam Dube will continue to do the job for the Men in Blue. It will be interesting to see how Hardik Pandya will fit in the playing XI when he returns.
Nitish went for 30 runs in two overs while Dube leaked 21 runs in one over. They didn't get a chance to bat. Axar spent 27 runs and scalped one wicket in four overs.
Bowlers
India will have one forced change here as Varun Chakaravarthy has been ruled out of the series due to a side strain. Ravi Bishnoi looks set to replace the mystery spinner in the final XI. Chakaravarthy is also doubtful for the Asian Games.
Jasprit Bumrah will continue to lead the pace attack, which will include Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep was the pick of Indian bowlers and he scalped three wickets.
