Babar Azam has returned as Pakistan captain for the two-match Test series against the West Indies. Babar was removed as captain following a dip in form,
with Shan Masood taking over. After three years at the helm, he was sacked too after losing 12 out of the 16 Tests he captained, with PCB turning to Babar. The development was confirmed as the PCB announced the squad for the World Test Championship series against West Indies and England. The team will play two Tests in the Caribbean, followed by three Tests against England in the UK. Pakistan included four debutants in the squad for the West Indies and England tours, with Ali Usman, right-handed batter Muhammad Awais Zafar, right-arm fast bowler Ubaid Shah and wicket-keeper-batter Muhammad Ghazi Ghori receiving a call. For the England series, Pakistan also added Saud Shakeel;be however, his inclusion will subject to fitness. The West Indies tour gets underway on July 25 in Tarouba, while the second Test will be played in Port of Spain from August 2. The team will then fly to England for the three-match series. The matches will be played in Leeds, Lord's and Birmingham from August 19.
