India won a silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games 2026. This was India's third medal at the continental event in Japan
and as many in shooting at this year's event so far. On September 20, India won two shooting medals. Elavenil Valarivan won silver in women's 10m air rifle while she was part of the Indian team that secured second place in the Team event. The team of Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane secured a total score of 1890.1 points to finish second behind the Chinese team of Sheng Lihao, Ma Sihan and Zhang Changhong, who bagged the gold medal with 1899 points at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery. China also set new qualification World Record after topping the table. They bettered their own record, set in 2025, by 0.6 points.
Two Indians Qualify For Final
Meanwhile, Rudrankksh and Dhillon also qualified for the Individual Final. Rudrankksh finished third with a score of 631.8 while Dhillon ended seventh with 630.0 points. Mane, however, scored 628.3 and finished 10th. For China, Lihao topped the charts with 635.4 points, which is an Asian Games qualification record, while Sihan finished second with 633.0. Chanhong finished with 630,6 points to settle at fifth. However, Changhong was knocked out of the final race as only two shooters from the same country are allowed in the final.
