Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday (October 24) elevated Kieron Pollard to the post of head coach following Mahela Jayawardene's exit. Pollard, who joined
MI as a player before IPL 2010, played for them till IPL 2022. He stayed with MI and took over as their batting coach starting IPL 2023. After four seasons as the batting coach, Pollard will now spearhead MI's coaching staff. It remains to be seen whether Pollard makes changes to MI's present set-up. All eyes will also be on Sachin Tendulkar. He has been associated with MI in every IPL season played thus far. Here, look at whether Sachin is still part of MI's coaching staff - Sachin Tendulkar has not left Mumbai Indians and he is still part of their coaching staff as an icon. MI signed Sachin as the marquee player before IPL 2008. He retired from IPL after winning the IPL 2013 trophy. Before IPL 2014, MI welcomed back Sachin to the franchise and appointed him the team's icon. Sachin has been performing this role since then. The ICC Hall of Famer works on a part-time basis and he doesn't attend every game. Apart from a new head coach, MI also have a new director of performance in Zubin Bharucha. He worked with Rajasthan Royals (RR) from IPL 2008 to 2026. While nothing is confirmed, MI could also have a new captain in IPL 2027 as Hardik Pandya is likely to leave the franchise. He returned to MI via trade before IPL 2024 as captain. MI haven't played an IPL final under him yet.
