Indian Judokas have made a bright start to the 2026 Commonwealth Games with Harsh Singh, Yamina Mourya and Asmita Dey reaching the final and securing medals.
Both players will fight for a gold medal and aim to become the first-ever Indians to become Commonwealth champions in the sport of Judo in history. Asmita will play the final of the Women's 48KG category after defeating Scotland's Ewing in the quarter-final by a 100-0 margin and home favourite Summew Shaw in the semi-final. She will face Canada's Heidi Quach in the summit clash. Meanwhile, Harsh Singh secured a summit clash spot, where he will face Joshua Katz. In the first round, he defeated Chikondi Kathewara of Malwi. Later, he beat Monthouel of Vanutua in the quarter-final 102-0. He got the better of Australia's Neto in the semi-final.
