Luck definitely favoured the player in terms of IPL trophies, but it did not help him play many games or play for India – after all, not everybody gets

In the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu are the only players with six IPL trophies, and they have both represented the national team. Moving on to players with five IPL trophies, we have multiple winners, such as MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Kieron Pollard— all of them played for their national sides as well, except one.

Making his IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians in 2010, Tare won the IPL trophy in 2013 and 2015 while wearing the blue and golden jersey. In 2016, he switched to Sunrisers Hyderabad, and in his very first season with the Orange Army, he won his third IPL trophy. In 2019 and 2020, he went back to the Indians but did not play a single game. However, given he was part of the squad, two more IPL trophies came his way, taking the total tally to five.
However, on one hand, while Tare was winning trophies, on the other hand, he had very limited field time.

Given that IPL has always been high on talent, Tare had limited chances but never managed to capitalise on them. Seven matches in 2010, five in 2013, and then, finally, his best season came in 2014, when he played 15 matches but managed only 124 runs. Not many remember Tare, but those who do probably remember him for hitting the match-winning six off Rajasthan Royals bowler James Faulkner in 2015, followed by his wild celebration. Tare’s IPL care remained limited to merely 35 matches.
Ranji regular
Despite Tare’s playing career not taking off in the IPL and his failure to make it into the Indian national side, Aditya was a regular in the Ranji Trophy, representing Mumbai. In First Class and List A, he made 5,608 and 2,619 runs, respectively, whereas in T20 domestic cricket, including the IPL, he scored 2,630 runs in 130 matches.

While Tare’s current whereabouts are unknown, his Instagram page states that he appears on various cricket analysis shows and even provides commentary. His last domestic match was in 2025 for Uttarakhand.
