This is no exaggeration, but let’s be honest: a match between India and PAK is no less than w*r and over the years, there have been some fights on the field
between players from the two nations
Cricket fans, irrespective of which country they belong to, are eagerly waiting for Sunday because this weekend, India and PAK will once again clash against each other in a World Cup game. The two countries known for their decade-old rivalry will meet after their last encounter in the Asia Cup 2025, where India defeated PAK in three matches, including the final. From no handshake to verbal abuses and poor gestures, those games had it all, and in the upcoming game, we expect more, given the tension between the two sides.

Abhishek Sharma vs. Shaheen Afridi
In one of the Asia Cup clashes last year, PAK pacer Shaheen Afridi tried his best to eye down Abhishek Sharma. The Indian opener, instead of using his mouth, allowed his bat to do the talking.

The same also witnessed a clash between Shubman Gill and Haris Rauf, but as usual, the Indian batters showed no mercy and hit Rauf’s deliveries left, right and centre.

Ishant Sharma vs. Kamran Akmal

In 2012, Ishant Sharma and Kamran Akmal engaged in a clash during a bilateral series at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Akmal had accused Sharma of blocking his run, after which Ishant had beaten him with a delivery. Soon after, an aggressive man came up to Akmal, which turned into a big confrontation, and players had to intervene.

In 2007, during an ODI match in Kanpur, PAK’s all-rounder Shahid Afridi was already on the edge for conceding runs. At that point, India’s present coach and former player Gautam Gambhir was on the crease. After hitting the boundary on one ball, Gambhir went for a run, but Shahid Afridi was standing in the middle of the crease, and the two collided. This led to a massive verbal altercation between the two players.

Last but not least, Gautam Gambhir did not take it lightly when Kamran Akmal made an unnecessary appeal during the 2010 Asia Cup after Gambhir missed a delivery that went into Akmal’s gloves. Akmal knew the ball had not touched Gambhir’s bat, and yet, he tried to convince the umpire with his massive appeal, which was ultimately turned down. This wasn’t the first time Akmal had made such an appeal, and therefore, Gambhir confronted him, which led to another on-field tussle.
