Vinod Kambli’s brother Virendra Kambli made an appearance on the Vickey Lalwani show in which he gave some updates about his health and spoke about the challenges being faced by his sibling. The former Indian batter was admitted to Akruti hospital in Thane due to urinary infection and cramps in the month of December in 2024. Since then, he is not able to speak and communicate well due to his severe health challenges. His brother revealed on the show that while he is recovering slowly, his health is not fully normal.

Virendra Kambli stated on the show that Vinod is a true champion and he will make a comeback from this tough period. He further added, "Vinod underwent rehab for 10 days. He got an entire body check-up done, including brain scans and a urine test. The results were fine; there weren't too many issues, but since he couldn't walk, he was advised to undergo physiotherapy. He still slurs in his speech, but he is getting better."
The cricketer’s brother also urged his fans to keep him in their prayers always as he needs their love and blessing during this tough phase of life. Vinod is not only undergoing health problems, but also met with a lot of financial problems. Vinod’s wife recently revealed that she was considering a divorce before deciding against it due to seeing his helpless condition. The veteran cricketer is steadily recovering from his medical issues at his home currently in Bandra, Mumbai.
